Major Scott Burgess
Major Burgess is from Manhattan, Kansas. He enlisted as an Infantryman in the U.S. Army Reserve in 1977 and achieved the rank of Sergeant before attending Oregon State University and receiving a commission in the Infantry in 1981. Upon graduation, Major Burgess attended the Infantry Officers Basic Course at Fort Benning, Georgia, then went directly to flight school at Fort Rucker, Alabama. His varied numbers of assignments have taken him to Georgia, Alabama, Texas, California, Washington, Louisiana, Arkansas, with overseas assignments in Korea, Germany and England. Several short duties took him to Jordan, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Hungary, Slovenia, Turkey and Scotland.. His civilian education includes a Bachelors Degree in Education, and an Masters Degree in Aeronautical Science from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. Military Education includes Infantry Officer Basic Course, Aviation Officer Advanced Course, Cobra Attack Helicopter Instructor Pilots Course, Combined Officers Services Staff School, Command and General Staff College, Air Command and Staff College. Some of his military certifications and background include Paratrooper, rotary wing pilot for the OH-58A/C, UH-1H, AH-1F, Senior Army Aviator, and Weapons System Officer for the F-15E. |
